Rajni’s Inclusivity

This sporty girl (until explored) Rajni, hated to come to school and had attended few classes. She had no friends and peers/classmates wouldn’t share their talks & lunch with her. She mostly kept aloof whenever in school talking with no one. This was only because of keeping herself untidy.

A day came when a PE session was to be conducted with them, and while dividing the teams’ nobody wanted to be with her and nobody wanted to stand near her. This kept going for 4 to 5 sessions with our educators providing regular inputs & guidance to students against doing this in the field.

One day while playing Pithoo Football, Rajni’s team was already down and was close to defeat with Rajni the only 1 with the last chance. Her teammates sitting outside the circle were chanting that she could not do anything and they are about to lose while some students were telling Rajni to play well.

Rajni was quite excited for her chance as it was for the first time that she would kick the ball to make the stack fall and rearrange it by herself. She confidently kicked it, and it was a perfect kick where she was able to some stones from the stacks fall and she quickly ran towards the stacks to rearrange them before the opposing team could hit her with the ball. She was able to rearrange the stacks once again after the initial success. Seeing this all her teammates were shocked and very happily started cheering Rajni. She played 6 times and scored 6 points for her team and made her team win, also her teammates were very proud of her and for the very first time, students came and shook hands with her and were standing nearby. This made her cry in happiness and also made the other students realize that they should not do this with other students.
